If 99.9% was good enough..

Hey guys!

Sorry about the lack of posts lately, I've been working quite a lot so haven't really had the time to have a good old blog and plan posts. - However, I do have the next 3 days off so I plan on, 1) Planning & scheduling some posts. 2) Toddling off to Meadowhall on Saturday to meet up with a lovely bunch of bloggers at the #SheffieldMeetUp (& of course blog all about it!) & 3) finally finish my months Foodie Penpals package for May.

But anyway, Creature showed me this little list tonight of things that might happen is 99.9% was good enough. & honestly some of them are pretty damn shocking.. But interesting. So I thought I'd share and see what you guys think..

If 99.9% was good enough..

  • 18,322 pieces of mail will be mishandled in the next hour.
  • 291 pacemaker operations will be performed incorrectly this year.
  • 880,000 credit cards in circulation will turn out to have incorrect cardholder information on their magnetic strips.

Foodie Penpals | April reveal

Hey guys!

So its that time of the month again, I've finally got round to revealing what I received from my Foodie Penpal Nichola this month. I have actually had the package waiting for me since Saturday but because of bank holiday the concierge service in my block of flats were away so I couldn't collect!

But anyway, I've picked it up today & boy am I pleased! - So pleased in fact that I couldn't wait to show you what I've been sent. Oh & please note that Bo Blab is now a grown up & I finally have a decent camera for photos!!!! YES! Creature bought a Lumix DMC-LZ20, 21x optical zoom baby yeahh!

What I received:

Crimbles Original Cheese Bites
Branstons Cheese & Pickle Peanuts & crackers
Taste #5 Umami Paste
Pergale Dark Mango Chocolate
Choceur Hazelnut heaven

Ok so the Branston Pickle peanuts literally lasted 5 minutes, I've been snacking on them after work whilst watching Fools Gold on tele. They really do taste like Branston pickle too! Which is amazing because cheese and pickle is one of my all time favourite flavour combinations.
The Cheese bites I've had similar before with Jacobs Oddities, so I assume they will be much the same - They will be in my bag tomorrow as a snack on my lunch break, yum yum yum!

Nichola has also kindly sent me Umami paste. According to the box, the paste is a Mediterranean puree & perfect for stirfrys, pasta sauces & soups etc.. I absolutely LOVE cooking so this is going to be great to experiment with. I'm planning on making a tomato soup soon so I think I may add a little squirt into the stock and see what happens!

Finally, I also received two very yummy big bars of chocolate (very generous!) I mentioned in my email to Nichola that I enjoyed dark high % cocoa chocolates, so the Pergale dark choc looks amazing, and so unusual with the mango filling.
She also sent a big ole' bar of hazelnut chocolate which just looks so yummy. You can see the huge whole nuts in the top so I can't wait to dig into that. I think Creature might even pinch this one off me!

Bo Blab runs Race for Life!

Hello m'loves!

So, today I'm bringing you a different kind of post & will be asking for a little bit of support. I'll be taking part in the Leeds 10k Race for Life later on this summer & I need you to rummage in your pockets for a few spare quid & sponsor me.

I'm not going to ask for a lot, I understand lots of people will be asking for sponsors in the run up to the event and I know we're all skint, but if you could even spare £2 that would be amazing and would seriously mean a lot!

I've been unfortunate enough to have had a handful of family members who have been affected by Cancer and I'm at a point now where I want to fight back and support the Charity that helped my Aunty Karen live through the terrible disease.

Please dig deep and sponsor me online - Anything you're kind enough to give is greatly appreciated.
Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create a force that cancer can't ignore, and hopefully in the future kick cancers butt!

Thank you to all who donate & good luck to anyone else taking part.
If you are running too, please comment with your details & I'll be happy to support you too

Vintage polka-dot #2 | NOTD

Hey girlies,

I'm still having a little bit of a love affair with Primarks £1 nail sets!
& I've brought you several posts about their nail collections lately including strawberry, red polka-dot, butterfly & moustache designs.

As I've mentioned in past posts, I opted not to use the adhesive provided with the nail set, I have some stronger nail glues which tend to give me a couple extra days wear.
I have to say, I really am in love with this design, its simple yet against a block coloured outfit it appears quite bold. & for someone like me who is terrible at nail art, its great knowing Primark have a fab range of designs I can pick up for pennies! I wore these over the weekend, for work and a cheeky few drinks with the boys in Leeds. So far they've been on on since Thursday and they've not fell off yet.. So a pretty good effort really for £1!

Primark seem to have atleast 3 new designs on the shelves each time I pop in so it looks like my string of NOTDs are likely to continue.. &&&& I have some fabulously garish new designs to show you very soon! Lady bugs and big bow design - Yes.

Have you tried Primark false nails before?

Dragons Den | OOTD

A'up!

So Friday was a little bit of a stressful day, our final assignment deadline for Magazine design & production required us to make a new magazine proposal, folder of all business/budget plans, an 8 page glossy printed magazine & present it to dragons den panel of professionals.. Eek!

I'm pleased to say we did well, they liked our idea & we got some fantastic feedback. But anyways, the purpose of this post is really to show you what I our for your presentation.

I'm not a fashion OOTD kind of blogger usually, and thats mainly because I feel really uncomfortable asking Creature to stand their taking pictures whilst I pose. So naturally I opt for the timer button on my camera & they still turn out pretty poor quality, *sigh*

Well anyway, I wanted to look smart for the presentation, after all it was in front of industry professionals.. But I threw on my brand new tailored cardigan from H&M (£14.99) just to add a little bit of colour. I absolutely adore the neon coral & it really helped lift my outfit.
I also went pretty big and bold with accessories, the necklace is from Mango (£27.99). My shirt is a cheeky steal also from H&M (£9.99) & the trousers are mega old & I think from Zara -The tag has actually fell off, they're that old!!-

Once again, apologies for the poor quality photos, I will one of these days get the courage to ask someone to do my photography for me, but until then I hope you enjoy my slightly pixelated poorly posed photies!

What do you think of my outfit choice?
