The Beauty Resolutions

Ok so I suppose I am a few days late, but I've been thinking long and hard about these resolutions over Christmas and the things I want to achieve this year. Some of you may know that my blog was originally based about 6 beauty resolutions I vowed to keep up over a year, and that a lot of them fell on their ass!

These were last years resolutions:

1. Stop biting my nails
- More NOTD posts

2. New hair extensions
- Find the best extensions on the market for quality and money
- also find the best in hair protection products

3. Find the ultimate hangover cure

4. Learn the best ways to apply makeup for fair/pale skin
- & Perfect the application of fake tan

5. Rework my own fashion style
- Try something new each month

6. Experiment with food
- Try out new recipes and find the best tasting 'healthy diet' meals.

I haven't stopped biting my nails, in fact I think I've just bit them this morning.. But in all fairness I have been wearing false nails a lot & over the year managed to bring to my blog many NOTDs and nail art posts regardless of my bad habit!
I also haven't experimented with my hair extensions much either, with the exception of my brief stint with Ombre. And as I began to experiment with styling products and protection sprays, my natural hair has grown long enough not to wear them any more anyway! Hallelujah!
However I can tell you that Remi is definitely the best brand of hair extensions I have tried, so for any new starters in the extension market, I would recommend spending a little more on Remi rather than the cheap £10 a row extensions.

On a positive note, I have reworked my own style & experimented throughout this year & have found the confidence to wear bodycon dresses! previously I was very self conscious about my stomach & thighs but a bodycon  midi LBD from Missguided changed that for me!

However I have found that new years resolutions make me feel a little bit crap, so rather than setting myself ridged resolutions, I'm going to map a few things I wish to achieve this year, a sort of year long bucket list.. No obligation but its something I will aim to complete.
2013 is going to be a pretty big year for me, it marks my 3 year anniversary with the creature, I will be moving into my first ever 'big girl' flat with Creature too, first time out of home or student accommodation.. & I will also be moving into another completely new city.

So without further ado (and pointless ramblings)..

1. Turn a studio flat into a first home for myself & The Creature
(Dan the boyfriend)

2. Let my hair grow out & the natural red colour to come back through.
No more extensions would be nice.

3. Explore the world.
I would love the chance to visit Italy or Thailand

4. Concentrate on my career.
find internships, contribute to websites, get my writing out there!

5. Say YES!
Say yes to more opportunities that come my way

6. Get as many First grades in my uni work as possible

7. Start walking for leisure
Yorkshire is beautiful, I want to see more of it!

8. Find a new active hobby
Reading is great, but a little anti-social!

9. Attend as many bloggers meet ups as physically possible!

10. Celebrate my 3rd year anniversary with Creature in style!
I want to take him away somewhere special

11. Win a blogger giveaway

12. Fill a MAC pallet

13. Get rid of all my credit card debt

14. Pay off the remainder of my vintage boudoir photo shoot off.

15. reach 500 followers

16. Hit over 100,000 views..

 17. Go home more.
I miss my family way too much - but trains are so darn expensive

18. Be wiser with cash

19. Implement a blog spending ban challenge

20. Start a Vlog.

I will probably end up adding to this throughout the year but for now these are the 20 things I really want to achieve, but best of all I'm not going to stress myself out and stick to it rigidly (well.. except for the getting a first.. That's kinda important)
The turning a studio flat into a home is really important, it'll be the first time myself and Creature have a space of our own so I want it to feel special.. So stay tuned this summer for pictures of my poor attempt at DIY!
